Answers to the questions we hear most from international clients.
Generally, no. Our team can act on your behalf in most matters, including negotiation, arbitration and litigation, without you needing to travel to China. Where your presence is genuinely required, we'll tell you well in advance and guide you through the process.
Our fees are transparent and agreed up front. We offer multiple payment methods, and for eligible cases — such as certain international trade and debt-recovery disputes — we can work on a contingency basis, where we only get paid upon a successful outcome. This lets us truly share risk with our clients.
Yes. Our foreign-related team advises in both Chinese and English, so you can communicate comfortably and understand every document, filing and strategy in your own language.
It depends on the procedure and complexity. Summary procedure is typically concluded within 3 months of filing, and ordinary procedure within 6 months — though extensions, expert appraisals and appeals can lengthen the timeline. Enforcement typically concludes within 6 months of acceptance. We'll map out a realistic timeline for your specific matter.
Act quickly: preserve all evidence (contract, payment records, communications), consider applying to a Chinese court to freeze the supplier's accounts or assets, then pursue recovery through arbitration or litigation — and, if fraud is suspected, report the matter to the authorities. Time is critical because evidence is easily lost and assets can be transferred.
Yes. We provide due diligence on Chinese counterparties — verifying company registration, business status, credit records, factory strength and qualifications — so you can transact with confidence and reduce fraud and default risk.
We serve clients worldwide — businesses and individuals in the United States, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Japan, South Korea and beyond — on international trade, maritime, corporate, intellectual property, family wealth and criminal defense matters.
